By the sea, in private
A beach wedding in Rio de Janeiro, at Grumari
The vows in a private garden on the edge of one of Rio’s best-preserved beaches, with the sea behind you; then the party in our garden, a short drive away. Planned and run by one team, in English.
The beach
Why Grumari
Say your vows in a private garden on the edge of Grumari beach, one of the best-preserved beaches in Rio de Janeiro, protected as an environmental reserve, with the sea behind you, the sound of the waves and the late-afternoon light.
Grumari is a short drive from the estate, on the same side of the city, so the celebration moves from the beach to the party without a long trip. The ceremony takes place at a beachfront venue that we book and pay for when you choose the beach. It is an add-on, not part of the package price: quoted separately for your date in your written proposal.
This photograph shows a ceremony at the beachfront garden in Grumari where the ceremony takes place. It is not from a past package.

Practical, before you decide
What to plan for by the sea
- A private garden, not the public sand. The ceremony is set in a beachfront garden at a venue that we book and pay for. No crowd behind your guests and no public-beach permit to wait for.
- The light and the heat. The late afternoon gives the softest light and the mildest temperature; midday sun by the sea is hard on guests in formal clothes.
- A short ceremony. The beach is for the vows. The dinner, the dancing and the rain plan are on our estate, a short drive away.
- Getting there. Guest transfers between the hotels, the beach and the estate are an add-on we arrange for you.
After the vows
Then the party, in our garden
From the beach to Além do Sonho, a garden estate of Atlantic Forest in Ilha de Guaratiba, on the same side of the city. The beach ceremony is an add-on to our three-day package — welcome drinks, the wedding party and an after party — which is from US$ 40,000 (60 guests).

Questions about a beach wedding
Can we have a beach wedding in Rio de Janeiro?
Yes. With us the ceremony takes place in a private garden on the edge of Grumari beach.
Why Grumari and not Copacabana or Ipanema?
Grumari is one of the best-preserved beaches in the city, protected as an environmental reserve, without the buildings and crowds of the beaches in the south zone. It is also a short drive from our estate, so the party starts soon after the vows.
Is the ceremony on the public beach?
No. It takes place in a private garden on the beachfront, at a venue that we book and pay for. Your guests have the sea right behind the altar without a crowd around them, and there is no public-beach permit to wait for.
How much does a beach ceremony cost?
It is an add-on to our three-day wedding package, which is from US$ 40,000 (60 guests). The beach ceremony is quoted separately for your date, in your written proposal.
What happens if it rains?
The rain plan is agreed in your proposal. Our estate has a covered ceremony space, so the vows can move there and the day goes on.
